I was wondering about the kit. about 70 percent of monogram/Revell kits have issues with fit or instruction flaws. You have to check these things carefully with these kits. Best wishes, will be watching.

🙁 Fortunately this kit has mainly straight edges, this will make corrections a little less tedious ... I hope ... Have fun anyway !!! 👍 🙂

So little update with the mesh insert fitted to the underside in place of the piece of transparency the kit comes with

Nice choice, i'm in! The photo-etch in the DLIR is not needed. Inside there, is a compartment with a round "eye". I never seen a fence on the glass.

Hi Airs Yes, the DLIR is indeed represented by a round eye but its behind a metal mesh, not a glass or perspex sheet on the real aircraft. So trying to reproduce that on this one 🙂

I like the mesh PE - really adds a lot to the airframe. Do you have mesh for the intakes too?

Thanks Augie, the detail is so minimal that makes your mesh look like a fence or something. By the way, have you ever seen an F-117 from up close? How did you noticed that detail on the FLIR? 😄

I know, not ideal but sometimes the not ideal is better than the alternative. I've known about the mesh for years after seeing one in the flesh.

I missed this one Aug's, looking good. Where do you get these things? LOL. I haven't seen a F-117 kit in ages.

That's explain the detail you added. Nice experience to see that machine in real.

When I saw the F-117 at an airshow, there were a bunch of USAF military police with big pointy guns all around it. Needless to say, I didn't get too close.

Looking promising Augie. I'm in and curious to see the progress.
By the way: many years ago I build a 117 too. Link here, maybe useful for you build. modellversium.de/gal..ighthawk-tamiya.html

looking good, did they change the number of teeth in the window for the FLIR from 3 -> 6 from prototype to production machines? Because in the pics you show you see 6 triangles

Not only the outline contour is unique but also the camo scheme, very well done 👍

Thanks willy 🙂, I realised I had a ton of builds in progress when most were done.
