Outright excellent! Great and atmospheric water and wake effects, and very crisply built and credibly weathered model - plus the very neat rigging!

She looks like she's out on the big blue ocean all alone, very well done and very realistic.👍👍👍

It's a ship in a box 😄 Your waves are incredible and the work on your vessel is outstanding.

I agree with the others and am truely impressed by this. I would appreciate if you could give some explanation about how you did water and wake.

Michael it's nothing new or revolutionary. It's Chris Flodberg's oats method. You put oat bran into a frame, form it, then 'freeze' it with CA or varnish. Then you sand it a bit and cover with thin paper glued on with PVA. That's the 'sculpt' part. After that you paint it and cover with Liquitex mediums. Foam is made of cotton wool glued on with Liquitex medium again.

Hi Mick. Thanx alot for laying out your technique. Maybe not new but unbeknownst to me. I am - now: was - looking for a method to display ocean water for my Catalina scene and what I came across so far did not nail it yet. Now I know how I will try it.
