That must have been a quick build. 🙂 I can recommend a 'side cutter' and 'sanding stick', but metal files is also nice to avoid wearing out the sanding sticks. Also nice having larger foamy sanding sticks for rounded surfaces and larger items.

What is a side cutter ? For the sanding stick I used it. Ans no it was not a quick build for me. Everybody have different skill level. I'm always trying to do my best but done is better then perfect. Sorry if you were disapointed ????

A "side cutter" is a tool for snipping plastic parts from a sprue. The more delicate ones are said to best not be used for think plastic, so one could use some other side cutter for that.

I just noticed that you apparently didn't snip or sand off the stubs off the side view mirrors (iirc).

Yep your right for the mirror. I didn't do it because I was to afraid to broke it. I use dspiea sniper. Wich is a good tool, but when the part is so thin on the sprue... I just leave it as is. I tought that it was better to have the mirror then to do not have it.

But I'm interrested in your "side cutter". Is it a particuliar tool. Or just a good sniper or a good cutter as the dspiea one.

If you have "trick" for those little tiny piece on sprue... I'm interrested. Just yesterday on a 1/35 german car, i just broke an interesting piece.

A lot of these tiny tubes and handles can simply be replaced and even be made more realistic with wire. They're often made thicker to avoid breaking. If you do have to sand them, careful use of a polishing tool on a Dremel can make it unnecessary to use pressure.

For really fragile plastic parts, you will want to get a photo etch saw. You get to buy a pack of them, on a photo etch metal plate, and you can fold the blade into something that can be attatched to a pen tool.

Here is a typical "side cutter": Sharp Pointed Side Cutter for Plastic (Tamiya 74035, No) (there are cheaper variants around though)
