Started out by attacking the hardest first, masking the canopy. In this photo it is partially complete. Some fine work done with Tamiya vinyl tape has given impressive results so far.
Here the vertical bars are set, all that remains is the top colour needs applying the the process is repeated for horizontal bars.
A few months since I got back to this project here you can see that the parts are all painted, well mostly painted at this stage
Pick the piece that will be missed from the model
Final masking and paint job on the canopy. Using lines of tape to mask off the panels in the window might be tedious but it's better, I find, than carving into the canopy
Dry brushed engine. This I'm really happy with shame it will be hidden
End of the the weekend, good look at a properly painted 1/72 glass
and with an engine attached. I need to fill the wing roots a bit as I'm not happy with them

Nice! I built that kit as well, I liked it. Is the tape you're using the Tamiya tape for curves? How does it compare to their standard?
