After a bit of fiddling on the fuselage, engine & nose cowling with the Dremel, I think I'll be able to installed the fully detailed engine under the nose coiling which I'm not going to glue. I'll need to modify it to let the air intake attached to the engine permanently.

The machine guns will have to be removed to install the nose coiling.

Thanks Joshua. You can't go wrong with an Eduard bf 109 kit. Wish I could say the same for their Me 110😉.

Life being filled with compromise I had to cut part of the engine support (See pic 23). No mater how much material I was removing with the Dremel, I still could not close the coiling. I also gave up on the idea of keeping the air intake connected permanently to the engine as It would have implied to saw the coiling.

It seem also impossible install the fully detailed machine gun under the plastic part that cover them. Since I plan to switch the place assembly state every few months (or even less with time) I'll temporarily install the machine guns when it's in ''maintenance'' state.

I'm now very eager to start paint. Probably around Christmas.

Thank to all for the nice comment. The yellow is done, the picture make it more brite than it is in reality. I will probably stars the camo this afternoon. AH the joy of the Christmas vacations 🙂

Thanks for the nice comment. I realize once I was done painting that I had used RLM70 instead of RLM71. Guest I'll have to mask up the plane again.

I'm done with this build & I'm very happy with result. It was a very nice way to end the year as it made me nostalgic since I build this airplane when I was 12 y.o. This has always been one of my favorite airplane ever since I played Secret weapon of the Luftwaffe on a friends PC. I have always fancied the yellow nose. The Eduard kits are top notch for these airplanes and I now get the hype around their WW2 fighters line up. The geman camo as always required a lot of touch up and reminded me the importance of have a clean airbrush when doing molting.

My idea to have 2 possible display state (open / closed cowling) didn't go as perfectly as planned (the machine guns interfere with the engine & are hard to maintain horizontally , but I'm sur I'll leave the engine exposed from time to time as it is has iconic as the plan it equipped.

Thank you all! I find it to still be a bit too dark, but I'll live with it and read instruction much closer in the future.

Rui's I migth revisit this build in the future since the kit was missing some decals. Don't know if it because it was pre-owned or if this weekend kit didn't included 2 sheets of decal like others. I'll migth reapply some weathering.
