The brass nameplate is a little unusual I would say. The ones I am used to have raised letters but this brass plate has recessed ones. Gently adding thinned paint might be a simple way to add color to the brass plate, primed or not, and some masking would be required if also coloring the flag.

I would spend a little extra time hiding the seam on the sides. A thicker layer of primer should be able to hide any trace of the seam lines, assuming one used putty and sanded flush previously.

The sail has some kind of "ring" going around it at the bottom, I wonder what it is, doesn't look like railings, but perhaps it is.

Thanks Treehugger. I would have preffered a decal for the nameplate as on the Airfix Trafalgar, thanks for the suggestion. I have gone back over that seam last night, i even cracked open the front for better alignment. Going to get it cleaned up tonight and see how it looks. Look at photo's this ring doesn't seem to be there, i might just remove it.
