Continuing the 1:72 PE learning curve. And the Part PE set seems fiddly but still my best effort.

Put the hard hours in with the PE and then forgot to take any painted pics before sealing up.

Nice surface details.

Wheel wells reasonably detailed but prob not accurate. I have cut away a section at the front to scratch up a gas cylinder. Will add that later.

Vallejo Dark Earth; not that dark.

Vallejo Dark Green pattern. Oddly for some reason RF-F had the camo pattern flipped left/right compared to the other patterns in the instructions (RF-J and RF-R).

This special (done with chalk) marking meant the final total score of the pilots of the "Kosciuszko" squadron 🙂

Thanks Robert. I imagine it's on this aircraft because it was also Witold Urbanowicz' mount too as flight leader I guess.

Regarding camo patterns, the protocol was for even-numbered aircraft to get the "A" pattern and odd-numbered ones to get the "B" pattern.

I suppose so, too, Gary. There is a full scale mock-up (wooden replica) in Poland presented in the museum of Arkady Fiedler, the author of the "Dywizjon 303" ("303 Squadron") book:

Tuned into your project today to look through the pics again. As I suspected the fuselage decals settled really well into the corrugated channels along the sides. Looks great. I think mine was just a matter of decal age and thickness; they look ok, but just ok and nothing like the nice conformity you have you your hurricane.

Thanks Rui. I'll have to go back and check what brand they were. I don't know much about decals but I use Tamiya Decal softner. Might be a setting solution too. I've slowed a bit as i ran our local junior football tournament last weekend and am camping this weekend. So no time at the bench I'm afraid. 👍

Thanks all for the kind comments and the interest. I still wonder about the tone of the Vallejo Air Dk Brown! Always seems a bit light to me.
