Thanks! Your F-16 looks great and I found out from your list that there exists a F-104 egg, will need to obtain one 🙂

"painted" the whole plane with the decal solution, as it has big splotches of different glossiness. Will repaint one last time all over with airframe aluminium and that's how it's going to look. I might go once more over leftover decals to find something to give it a bit of color, but I think it won't be too successful.

I'm calling this one done, because after twice repainting it completely due to the paint reacting with anything that touched the model, it did it at the very end again, when wiping off weathering oils. I will never again use that paint.

There are actually two different makes of F104 egg planes : Mine are from Freedom Model Kits, but there is also a kit from AFV Club. Both have two versions (single seater and twoseater ) in one box.

The "high shine" Alclad shades are extremely delicate. I don't know if letting them dry longer would help but I'll only use them for parts that I know won't be weathered or exposed to any kind of solvent no matter how mild. I had achieved the Holy Grail of metal shades on some test plastic. It captured the shiny, yet dull look of the actual slightly weathered metal and the formula was one of the high shine shades over one of the "regular" Alclad shades. It looked almost perfect, then I masked it with Tamiya tape and it literally came right off. Back to the drawing board.

Thanks John. This one was sooo frustrating. I'll experiment with other brands, because this one was useless. Still love some other Alclad paints.

Sure, I think the high shine Alclad shades are simply not useful at all. They look great but are so delicate they may as well not exist.
