Scalemates Schwalbe Group build 2021
![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/6/1/7/1064617-26091-44-720.jpg)
Brush applied pre-shading could have interesting results....
![Album image #2 Album image #2](/albums/img/6/1/8/1064618-26091-96-720.jpg)
![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/6/2/1/1064621-26091-98-720.jpg)
Toned down with thin coat of grey over the top.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/6/5/3/1064653-26091-12-720.jpg)
My version of 'light blue', which may be toned down to a more greeny-blue later
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/6/5/6/1064656-26091-31-720.jpg)
What I'm aiming for
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/6/5/4/1064654-26091-15-720.jpg)
Tiny plane, big brushes.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/6/5/5/1064655-26091-73-720.jpg)
Coming together, so will leave to fully dry before next steps. Keeping my options open, for the open or closed access panels.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/9/9/0/1064990-26091-88-720.jpg)
The darker paint was too thick and lumpy, so I have had to sand it down again, with 1000 grade wet and dry paper.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/0/0/5/1065005-26091-20-720.jpg)
Much happier with the tones and contrast, and no lumpy areas this time. Still wet, so will see how it dries.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/0/0/6/1065006-26091-70-720.jpg)
I'm trying out using thin black decal lines for the canopy framing. More lines to add, once these first ones have dried.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/1/7/0/1065170-26091-85-720.jpg)
Today's progress. The canopy frame looks neat and tidy.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/6/8/2/1065682-26091-50-720.jpg)
Dry fit of canopy and front access panels. Not sure how I managed to make the paint so uneven.
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/6/8/3/1065683-26091-53-720.jpg)
Remainder of decals to do tomorrow, and prepare the undercarriage.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/5/2/6/1069526-26091-36-720.jpg)
All decals on, undercarriage installed, and kettenkrad hitched up.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/5/2/7/1069527-26091-60-720.jpg)
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/5/2/8/1069528-26091-35-720.jpg)
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/5/2/9/1069529-26091-14-720.jpg)
Finished ?
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/5/6/8/1069568-26091-74-720.jpg)
Matt coat to seal the decals and remove some shine.
![Album image #19 Album image #19](/albums/img/5/7/1/1069571-26091-45-720.jpg)

Many thanks for your 'likes', everyone. It's not my best for sure, but definitely learning as I go! The Spad worked out better, I thought.

Nice one Bruce, more so because this is tiny in this scale.
A matt coat would be a good idea.

Many thanks, Jan. Anything 1:72 or larger was already sold out, hence adding this one to the few 1:144 I have already. Painting was the challenge...

Many thanks for your 'likes', but I'm tempted to try this kit again, and try to get the painting to my satisfaction. I learned lots of 'what NOT to do's' 😉

Thanks, everyone, for your likes and kind comments. Very few parts and all fitted fine, Guy, so it was all down to me to mess up the painting 😉
