Turned out very well. Congratulations for your first completed model. By judging the background I suppose the pics have been taken in Israel. If you happen to be at the source watch out at your next nature walks as Israel has great soil/dust whose pigments are very fine and adhere well to paint.

Hey Michael,
Yes, I am from Israel.

I made previous attempts with fine reddish/brown sand and mud in the area around my house we have here in the center and south of the country (also in the Gaza region) but that looked awful.

The mud effects I added here are more white sand/mud effects by Amoo which is mostly the upper layer of dirt you find all over Israel. usually is being blown here from the south. below it you will find usually the reddish sand and mud layer I previously mentioned.

it's not perfect but for the next Merkava I will try to reproduce the reddish mud effect more

Yeah, but Neuling only chose the Merkava I so he did not have to tackle the ball and chain-pain. 😜
