Aoshima Honda Streem 1/42 OOB
Kit box ... nice isn't it ?
Colored sprues
The project started as way to spend spare hours during our Easter Holidays. Since last year we use to do that ... Usually as a back-up for bad weather ,,, which was not the case the day the picture was taken. In the backgound my missus crochet squeme.
Back at home ... parts alreday brush painted and ready for assembly.
Second coat of gloss red
Front suspension assembled ... then I started to get the feeling that the project was going to be difficult
That's what I ment ,,,,
Ugly gap to be filled ... to make things worst the clamp left a hideous mark in the gloss black paint that had to be removed.
Second attempt ot glue the parts ,,, this time I was more careful with the gloss paint.
As Tamiya cement was not strong enough to bond these two parts .... so I resorted to Cyano glue hoping that it would glue the parts and fill the gap at the same time.
More clamping .....
Glued and filed , but still a noticeable gap
on both sides
3rd attempt to glue the parts
Using gloss paint to try to fill the gap
Now the engine ... and more problems
The engine + transmission has proved to be very difficult to glue and set in place. There are no postive locations and the barely discerned spring , makes it even more difficult, as it pushes the engine block out of this place.
AS you can see , the spring pushes the transmission out of the base.
On our way home one suitcase fell over the box were the model was an it was destroyed beyond repair ... Well in fact it could be repaired ,,, but I didn't feel like , What started as an easy project became what I didn't expect ,,, so ... move on to another project ,,,, another Honda ... this time a Super Hawk from MPC

An easy project .... at least I thought it should be ,,, but it turned out tougher than expected . Started during our Easter Holidays as a back-up in case of bad weather. Since a couple of yeasr ago we use to to that ... my lovely wife takes with her a crochet project and I take an easy kit to build OOB ,,, in this case not so easy ...
