F-107A Ultra Sabre

Album image #1
One panel line missing. Interesting error.

Album image #2
Cockpit fits well. Not much details.

Album image #3
I have three ongoing jet projects and for a short moment they all were in same stage with the cockpit

Album image #4
Not sure if it shows, but there were mysterious spots on the plastic.

Album image #5
Some sanding

Album image #6
Trying to get the wing straight

Album image #7
Canopy on place.

Album image #8
The hafl sphere underside the fuselage should not be round, so I modified it. Thanks to primeportal.net/hang..bre/index.php?Page=1

Album image #9
Sanded the wingtip straight

Album image #10
Added a little PS piece as a new navigation light

Album image #11
Engine cowling

Album image #12
Album image #13
I finally got the air intake done. It was difficult to sand and it was discouraging, because it is 2mm too low (according designer.home.xs4all.nl/models/f107/f107-1.htm and I also measured it). I decided to keep on "OOB" principle.

Album image #14
The hole in the nose needs to be reopened for the pitot tube.

Album image #15
Pitot tube cemented in place. Later I added thin CA glue for smoothering the edge.

Album image #16
Primed with aqueous Mr.Surfacer 1000.

Album image #17
Pre-shading going on.

Album image #18
It is still difficult to let the shading be visible.

Album image #19
Album image #20
I pre-shaded red areas with yellow because I was curious.

Album image #21
Album image #22
Bigger areas painted. Next is details.

Album image #23
Lots of details painted. During the weekend I hope to get decals applied.

Album image #24
Horrible decals are in place.

Album image #25
The air brakes are hold in place with blue tack. Decals are then cut with a knife along the panel edges.

Album image #26
Album image #27
Air brake in place.

Album image #28
Under carriage on place. I should have dryfitted landing gear doors before painting anything...

Album image #29
Rudder and elevator in place.

Album image #30
Canopy mask removed and holy crap it is dirty and dusty inside... I should have checked it better before gluing.

Looks pretty good and the yellow preahading is subtle but nice.

I see there is an Italeri/Revell in the works. Looking forward to it.

Commenting with my eyes shutting of due to being tired is a no go. I was referring to an Italeri/Revell single seat Hornet being in the works.

Thanks, mates! @Maciej Yes I have Italeri's Hornet ongoing. It is not perfect with its raised panel lines, but it has Finnish decals included. I'm using it for one goofy project, that has not advanced enough for posting pictures here yet.

A Finnish Hornet is a rarity. Looking forward to it.

A beautiful A/C. Have drooled over S/N 33-5118 many times. This first one built and one of two surviving at the Pima Air and Space Museum in Tucson AZ the other at Wright Patterson AFB. The 3rd cracked and was scrapped. Awesome !

Thanks, WIT6guy 🙂 The decals are now placed and they were annoying. The instructions were unclear and national emblems were bigger than in the instructions.

An unusual plane - but that makes your model all the more standing out. 👍 Great work and result, looks really nice! 👍
