It was the first kit that I built with my father (actually he did everything hahahaha) and since we had no knowledge, we put the decals of both versions, and the paint surface was very damaged (1999) so I decided to strip it (2008) to rebuild it.

Michael .
Not sure if you know this. Plus it may not have been a process you could have used since you were almost complete with the model. But East Off oven cleaner will strip the paint no issues. You spray the parts, put it in a plastic bag overnight and wash it off and it's clean.

So it is, thanks!!! at that time I didn't know how to do it... in my most recent models I used "brake fluid" which is just as good as oven cleaner.
