IIAF RT-33
Available decal options. But I decided to turn it to Iran Airforce RT-33
Cutting T-33 nose goes well!
Painting exhaust engine
Unexiting process of masking camera windows!
Painting wheel bays
Add weight to the nose section
Highlighting gauges. I am deciding to not use photoetche parts and keep it for another T-33. As in this RT-33 we have only one pilot.
Resin seat completed!
Instruction of the kit is not easy forward.for the part no52 I dont kow why SWORD used clear prat for it? As windshield sits on this section latter you should be carful about the position you glue it.
As I expected there will be gaps between uper and lower part of the kit. So before gluing the parts evaluate the best possible fit
I glued upper part. Still not sure how good it is until priemer
Well, I am hateing to use putty. But small gaps could be happened.
Almost ready for priemer!
Priemer applied. Not so smooth exprience!
Rescribe nose section again...
Applying orange color!
IIAF T-33 starts to appear! The kit has black decal for nose area but I paint it.
Weird exprience. I covered inside intake by facial tissue. When tried to remove it, the left side stuck so hard that several attempt to remove that was failed. So I add several drop of water inside intake and then I could remove that.
Some progress. I fix the windshield and glued the tanks. Tomorrow I will go for clear coat
Time to apply decal. The orange of the refrence photo is underexposed and needs to adjust. So the correction of the photo in photoshop shows correct color of the jet.
In this exprience, the large IIAF decal tends to silvering after apply, be sure about glossy of the the surface.(any comment welcomed) I used Tamia strong decal solution. For stenciles I used original decal printed by techmod. Very nice detail but very thin and I missed 2 stenciles during apply. Another note that I think black walkway decal of the kit must be shorter and you may do some adjustment before use
RT-33 has a nose camera window. In general 6 ones in the nose section. For 5 others I masked the clear nose before paint. For this one I used decal (spare one)
Ok almost done.Gloss coat after decals fixed silver shinig of decals.
Happy regard the result.
Spent too much time on this but worth it!

Yes Maciej! Sometimes you spent time and the result far from expectation. In this case I even stoped for weathering as it is close enough to what I seek for.

Nice project and an interesting livery.
To reduce silvering next time you might consider applying a gloss clear coat befor you put decals on. Another technique to achieve a smother surface is spraying the model right after the paint job thinly with pure thinner. This dissolves the paint a little bit and lessens the grain. My results improved with this trick that Thomas Kolb once suggested but you gotta be careful not to overdo it.
Nice runway. Is it cardboard or you did it yourself?
