A 2007 boxing of the original 1973 kit. Combo of recessed & raised panels.
The seat is very thick with the harness molded on ever so slightly. Blah!
So, I sanded. Thinned it down. Drilled venting holes in the back. Then added an Eduard harness.
Paint is Tamiya for the base with Ammo highlighting the panels. Both paints supposed to be the same color
but the combination worked well to my eyes. Only decals are on the tail and the I.D. tag. Added a little weathering to it.
Sakai's aircraft must have been saving weight without a radio, because the antenna mast is cut at the canopy.
Haven't read his 'Samurai' book to see if it mentions it.
Another fun build!
