Demonstrator Camouflage pattern for urban operations
It may look a bit weird, but this is the beginning of a parking garage. The screws will give anchor to the walls, now the casting form can be built up.
Well, outer side of the formwork finished so far, some stabilizing extra parts are about to be set next.
Urban Camo, 2nd
Vallejo Mecha Primer White and Vallejo Cold White 70.919 in one working step "wet in wet"
Vallejo 71.244 Sand Beige, to me really a wonderful colour/ tone, as so many colours from Vallejo
Processing the basement of the parking garage comes to the final stage. After setting PVA U-profile for the openings in the casted wall, I prepare double-sided tape to fixate the inner layer of the formwork, that will be stabilized with strong cardboard from the outside then. Next, the ceiling anchors and the roof setup are about to come. Can´t wait to pour the concrete 🙂
Now it is ready to set up the inner layer of the formwork.
It seems to work out fine...very happy here 🙂
What is an ugly formwork now, will soon be put to the ultimate test. I´d like to pour the concrete right now, but I am aware, that the full curing time of the hot-glue is not yet reached
Ready to mix and pour
This is it: My "recipy" is: 200g of water, 20g of Pantharit flow-improver and roughly 1000g of concrete. Since this repair concrete is fibre-proven, together with the flow-improver, one could just name it "super-conrete". Coming out nicely from the formwork instead, would be super enough for me 🙂
Since concrete needs a little help to set with the minimum of air-bubbles, my airbrush compressor provides good vibrations 🙂

Volkswagen Bully T3 by Takom ('2014), yet unweathered, Urban Operations Camouflage
Time for an update: 5 days after I poured the concrete putty, today I decided to take away the inner layer of the formwork. Since I never used this putty product before, but standard concrete only, I could only guess the right moment for that. The surface quality is as wished for, but the structure is still very weak, in means of torsion- or pressure-resistance. To support the hardening process, I now will feed the concrete by spraying water on it, just to prevent it from drying too fast and lacking in hardness in the end. I guess, one more week of supported drying time is the minimum to have a chance to get out all the form parts safely. Well, I knew it would be delicate, so I better accept to wait this time for good. Cheers! 🙂
I decided to make a mount for the 50 Cal MG from scratch....the idea is, that by pushing the pedal by foot, the mount slides back or forth, to allow the usage in both directions of the transporter.
50 Cal MG ready to go
After released from the formwork, it occured neccessary, to add thin plaster as finish, which is to be sanded next. There will be frames added to all openings. So far I am satisfied with the cast-result.
Today I added frames made of lime wood to the facade. Soon the frames and a final wall coat are to be painted, returning to the nature concrete tone.
This evening I finished the basic paintwork. The picture shows a test fit, of course the frames will be aligned, when glued in finally. I hope the Corten-steel-look is recognizable 🙂 Cheers!
time to take care for the balustrade cover....cured in hot water for ten minutes, then bent and fixated.
By this, the basement is almost finished. Te next step will be to mount the roof deck.
For the moment, the facade work is done 🙂
...now it looks more like a parking garage!
....the urban look is on its way: the sidewalk is waiting for the paint finish, and some green is on its way, too.
...just some green 🙂
the dio base is coming closer to the finish line: priming of the street
It was very hard to find any parking garage machines, so they are made from scratch now 🙂

Joachim P. Hello, Rui and Neuling, thank you very much. When it comes to the dio, it is pretty much still in the planning state, but I can´t wait to get started! Cheers!!

Joachim P. I want to say "Thank You" to everybody, who gave my urban ops Leo a thumbs up! Each is much appreciated. 🙂
Mr James Lovely painting on the Leopard. Looking forward to the dio. Great work so far

Joachim P. Thank You very much for your kind words! I am fully into it, and hope, my plan for the concrete parking house scene turns out, as I only try to predict now 🙂

Davide Vitali Wait, you're pouring REAL concrete?? I didn't understand you were building a real frame! Awesome, really looking forward for the results.

Joachim P. Hello, Davide, thank you very much!!! To be more precise, I used a cement-based Concrete- and Repair- Putty. In contrary to usual concrete, here the "sand"- structure is much finer, and it is fibre- proven, so I hope to gain the needed stability, without using any reinforcement inside. Plus, the used flow improver has worked fine, by breaking the surface tension of the used water, it was a pleasure to see, how fast the putty found its way and filled up the formwork without complications. Now, the hardest part is to keep my curious fingers away from it for 5-7 days, but meanwhile I can work on the figurines and the VW T3 "Bully" Transporter. I am happy, that you are looking forward to the result with me. Cheers!

Spanjaard Wow, difficult to make it more realistic than to build like a real building would be!! Amazing

Joachim P. I thank You very much, Spanjaard, besides this attempt was quite an adventure so far, and I really learned a lot. I am happy, that you see it that way, and I can´t wait to add the details and kits to it. I love to figure out each little detail: it means a pleasure that comes with buying a kit and deciding for a dio, but is priceless at the same time. I am happy to share my progress here.

Joachim P. Thank you very much for your likes! Much appreciated!
Joachim P. Dear Guy and Villiers, I thank You very much! Since I am still a quite new guy around here, it means a lot to me. Have a nice Sunday!

Neuling Very interesting diorama! Something off the beaten track, hopefully not a realistic look into near future .....

Mathias Decommere Very interesting diorama! Makes me think of Call of Duty MW2.

Joachim P. Hello, Neuling, thanks a lot!! To make an urban warfare dio set in the present day really felt a bit strange, even more, when the figurine set I used does come from the very present reality. So I agree fully with You.

Joachim P. Hello, Mathias, thank You very much. I needed to search for Call of Duty MW2 and must say, well, yes, one really may say so. 🙂

Album info
Hello, this is my 2nd full project here on scalemates. While searching for inspiration on how to paint this Tamiya Leopard 2A6, I found this article on the website tank-masters and decided to route for this camouflage pattern: tank-masters.de/?p=6743 , pictures by Ralph Zwilling
"At the end of March 2018, Tank-Masters.de had the unique opportunity to photograph the Leopard 2A5 Main Battle Tank with an urban operations camouflage during a test exercise at the new urban training site Schnöggersburg located within the German Army Combat Training Center."
Since the model kit is a Leopard 2A6, I hope, this "as if" can be valid here, this time.
Having finished the kit, I will now start the dio for it.
As addition comes Takom VW Bully T3, also Urban Operation camouflaged.
I finished the project on the 9th of September, 2023, and it looks really good to me. I can tell, the casting process made me learn a lot, and I must admit, the casted result leaves some room for improvement. I hope you like the pictures. Cheers!
