Thank you, Landlubber Mike and Pascal Garat. Every once in a while, it is fun to build the large-scale models. Inspiring me is the book "The Evolution of the Automobile In Scale" Paperback – February 12, 2016, by Harry Pristovnik (Author)
A look at the evolution of the automobile from the days of horse-drawn vehicles to the sleek, prestigious cars of the 1930s, by way of the scale model cars built by the author. Featured are the first "true" automobile, the Model T, some American and European luxury classics, and even a few "non-auto" vehicles of the era.

I have his book too, along with a bunch of the models he covers in the stash. Eventually, I'd like to build them from the early subjects in the late 1800s to the 1920s and after.

Landlubber Mike, I checked out your profile. You have a lot of things you want! Hopefully we live long enough to collect and build all that we like. I thought telling the story of the automobile in models was a great idea. The book inspired me to have a plan, but I will never build them as well as Harry Pristovnik. I do well just to build them out of the box. I wish you well Landlubber Mike!

Thanks Curtis! And yes, I have a decent sized stash at the moment. I'm a little on the younger side, so hopefully I can get through them. I'm afraid to say that the wish list is mostly aftermarket for kits I already have, so I have a lot of building to do! I got back into modeling a decade or so ago after haven't not built any models since I was a kit, and started with wooden ship models. Over Covid, I got bit by the plastic bug and now here I am 🙂
I struggle myself with trying to achieve perfection yet balancing allocating a reasonable amount of time to my builds. I like the challenge and puzzle of aftermarket, but probably won't put in the kind of extra effort I see from the masters on here. If I did, I'd only build one model a year!
By the way, I loved your mix of modeling subjects in your album. I'd like them all but don't want to bomb your inbox. I especially liked your recent fire engine! I also really like your Ju-52. I have a couple of those kits on the shelf with aftermarket pontoons and skis to convert them. I'm a fan of building quirky, less built subjects.
Take care! Will be following your builds in the future!
