Hi Donald, I had a look in the sprues and I am crazy to start it, I still don´t know if I will buy the eduards goodies for this baby (cockpit exhaust and wheels) or will do it out of the box, the nozzes in the kit looks like a good atempt to representation (still a bit thick), but cockpit is very basic but as I want it closed, spend money in the resin set for it seems trow money away, so I intend to start with the kit parts to see if I will be happy with the results befor order anything. I have being looking for build reviwes on this one and looks like noone has done it so far...

In the past Tally-ho made very nice set in 72, 48 and 32 scales but now it's not on the market anymore. Also 3709 (the one on the picture) is included in Tally-ho. Now you can buy slovak insignias. I think KoPro makes it. Or you can buy digital camo decals scalemates.com/kits/546972-kopro-94160-mig-29as-fulcrum
For Slovak 29 I found also this:
scalemates.com/kits/224891-b..mig-29-fulcrum-family-part-1
or syhart but I think syhart is also not available now:
scalemates.com/kits/131412-s..ecal-72-046-mig-29-fulcrum-a
Anyway I believe it will be very nice kit made by Cesar 🙂

Hi guys, thanks for the tips, I will definitly find one digital camo to do, but not for this bird, I belive I will do it with the kit decals, I have already researched the colots in Tamiya range to paint it, I think I got it now, I would like to weather it like the ukranian Migs, they look very faded and dirty. and by the way, thanks for the trust Duri! 😉

Cesar, in 1/72 I dont think I would waste a lot of money on resin parts. If there is a PE set from Eduard that would spruce it up, I would do that. Especially closed canopy.

I found the resin set to be cheaper than the painted PE set (the only PE available for this one so far), I made up my mind, I bought one set of PE with the ladder and wheel holder, so I'll go for the resin, I have to wait until all arrive though....

Huh. Usually the PE is a bit cheaper. Regardless, I am sure it will be a fun build.

Hi, I know I said I was going to use the kit decals for the russian plane, but I found on ebay the kopro decals for the digital camo of slovak air force, it was on auction and nobody was biding, I could not let it pass and I bought it for 5,6€ , now I have one dilema: stick with my idea of doing the heavily weathered russian plane or the spotless digital camo one (all references I found in internet over the digital cammo are brand new painted) let´s see what I will do, I am now trying to assemble and improve the exhaust nozzle to see if is worth to buy the eduard one or I will stick with the one out of the box, will post some pictures of the conclusions soon

Yup, the digital camo mig is quite clean. Also they cleaned it and added a tiger on the vertical stabilizers I think 3 years ago. Some little weathering you can find on this picture: [img1]
Regarding the PE sets, I ordered also interior and exhaust nozzles (it was 30% off few weeks ago in eduard eshop). Now I only miss the the kit 🙂
Anyway I will enjoy any of your decision because I like heavily weathered planes and I also like my national (slovak) air force 🙂 But make it fast 🙂 because the slovak government wants to change the migs for grippens 🙁

My national air force is also going to buy grippens (brazil) we retired our lasts mirage 2000 , this kit have very fine engraved details and rivets, as fine as the tamiya F-16, so I am hesitating in cover that with decals for the digital camo, maybe I will save it to use in other kit, zvezda also released one brand new tooling of mig 29, maybe I can buy this one also, ho knows? 😉

Use Micro sol and set and the decals should settle right into the panel lines and not ruin the detail.

@Cesar: Zvezda released the 9-13 version of the MiG-29. The Slovak AF uses only the older one - 9-12. But who knows, maybe Zvezda will issue 9-12 some day too?

As Lukas said we have version 9-12 -> Fulcrum A. It was updated to version AS, which means there are some new antenas (which doesn't work well or at all) and the instruments were changed from metric to imperial (m->ft, km/h->knot). But it is still old Izdeye 9-12...

Hi Aris, at the moment this project is not starting, I have to finish other ones from my shelf of doom (it's a deal I have done to myself) but I'm looking forward to start this one.
