The Zlin Z-XIII was designed as a courier and quick transport that could convert from pilot only to pilot & passenger or cargo. There was only one ever made and it is still in a museum in Europe. This is a very small model, even for 1:72.

Well done so far. I also built the same kit. Can you see it here:

You did very well to cover the wing seams and re-scribe the lines at the top and bottom. I made the mistake of not doing it.

Do you know how you will paint it? I didn't know how to do it, so I I mixed the metallic paint with a little sand color. Testing before. In pics it is not appreciated well, but I think it does not look bad.

Following!

Hi Cuajete,

I can understand why you were trying to get the finish right as in colour reference photos it does come across as having a bit of a gold tinge to the silver finish.

The scribing worked out not badly, but there are a few issues. What did you think of trying to mount the resin landing gear to the mounts under the wings? Two very different sizes there between them and I'm trying to finish puttying in sanding that up currently.

Hi Bruce... As you can see between pics 46 and 49 the fit in that area was not good. Indeed the sizes in both parts are different. I tried to fit them as best as possible, but I did not get to correct it with putty and sandpaper. Maybe I can live with that being on the underside of the plane. One of the legs came off during the masking process. Be careful when sanding, because that joint is a bit delicate.

I also had trouble trying to fit the canopy. I had to do adjustments to the canopy and fuselage to be able to fit it in and maybe force it a bit, because it was higher than the top of the fuselage.

I had another problem with the decals. Especially with those of the wheel fairing and with the thin red lines along the fuselage. They are very thin and tend to bend inwards when you try to separate them from their support and can also break when trying to handle them.

For the rest, it is a small, simple kit to assemble and worth trying it, because it looks very good in the showcase with the rest of the larger aircraft 🙂
