Double seater used for SEAD missions ("Wild Weasel") in the Vietnam War in 1:72. Fascinating how the F-105G had a major role in the beginning of electronic warfare development. The stories told by the Wild Weasel pilots in their terrifying encounters with Vietnamese SAMs are worth reading/listening.
My personal impressions regarding the kit after completion:
It generally has a very good fit and I haven't read anything about overall shape issues. There are nonetheless smaller problems:
1. The ventral fin (underside) is terribly thick and just wrong. I replaced it with the resin part from Quickboost.
2. All of those "rivets" or screws are signifficantly oversized and annoying as hell. They have the size of tennis balls and to be honest one should be careful with dark washes not to make them look even bigger than they are.I know some people tried to cover them with putty but that's a lot of effort, which I wasn't keen on doing.
3. There is an unexplainable gap between the fuselage halfs and the cockpit itself. With other words, when assembled, you have large gaps on both sides of the cockpit.
4. There are no transparent parts for the wing position lights. There are aftermarket replacements which unfortunately I didn't buy, but I do advise trying them, since painted plastic for this size is just ugly. I might do replace them at some point maybe.
5. There are no instructions where to put all the decals for weapons and weapon pylons, but you can check the online instructions from Trumpeter's F-105 at 1:48.
Overall a very pleasant to build kit which I do recommend to other people ethusiastic about the Thunderchief!
