I will be heading out to various museums in Germany to begin designing accurate riveting guides. There are plenty of aircraft I am interested in but I wanted to ask if anyone has a request for specific blueprints? My only criteria is that there must be a plane in Germany that I can take measurements from. Let me know if there is anything you want.

Gee, Michael, that's one Big ask! Do-24 would be great to draw but it will take me some time. That's one complicated machine. What scale would you need?

If I were to do the Do-24 I think I would probably start by going to the Technik Museum Speyer. The fuselage they have is easier to access. It being in such rough condition actually makes it easier to get accurate measurements. But afterwards I would have to contact the Deutsche Museum to get access to their plane in order to complete the drawings.

Hi Shyhiker. I am not asking. I am just wishing and dreaming. 🙂
1:72 would be wonderful for me. I've completed the interior of my spanish Do-24 and riveting (negative and positive) will be the second next task after building the spanish cupolas.

Very nice texturing and weld marks on this Soviet beast. The photo etch details is a nice touch.

Thank you, Mate! This photo etch is selfmade from 0.2mm brass plate ))) I need to buy the photo etch bender, to make it better. ))

Thanks, Mate!
I try to make weld beads like on my favorite YT cannel )))
1) I make a groove with scraiber, if it necessary on the plane surfaces.
2) Next, i prepare 2 component putty, and make a thin "laces" out of it.
3) After that, I carefully fill the grooves and angles with putty "laces" and apply welding texture with special tool (toothpick with tip warped with brass sheet, witch forms small speared C shape).
That is all.

In view of the start of this build, I was tempted by the following motto: "From ugly duckling to swan": the kit offers a number of interesting challenges, but gives an idea of the potential both as a model and as a representation of a true aircraft beauty! I will try my best to make the swan appear....
A first challenge: roughly moulded parts, poor fit and a wing that wants too much in a positive V-position.... A second challenge will follow in the form of a Vacu canopy that has turned yellow with age; this will give me the opportunity to try out the doing in Vac-canopy myself. More of that next time...

Recently I stepped into the 3d printed product range from Fat Frog Scale Models. This company from Hongkong offers highly detailed 3d printed tracks for all common German WWII tanks in scale 1/72. In the case of these Pz. III tracks the driving wheel is printedt together with the tracks. They fit for Dragon, Revell, Vespid etc. Because of the sag it will not properly fit with other brands Pz. III kits, but I'll give it a try later.
So I start this project just to look how it works. You have to build the main chassis and running gear except the driving wheels. You can glue all the wheels in place, except the idler wheels. Here I recommend to dry fit first, to make sure everything is aligned correctly. In my case the tracks seems to me 2-3 mm to short, so that I had to adjust the position of the idler wheel to get a proper fit. Here I only made an oval whole out of the round whole to fix the idler wheel a bit more forward. I also add a brass pin inside of the driving wheel to get a correct fit as well.
Well it is not a shake and bake as I first thought, but with just a little work you will get excellent tracks for your scale 1/72 tanks.
I can highly recommend this product and hope they will increase their range.
About the Dragon Stug III, nothing else to say, because it is an excellent kit!
Happy Modelling, Christian

WIP on my Dragon Stug III painting process.
1. Basic painting using Vallejo 71.025 (Dark Yellow) and highlights 71.025 + 71.001 (White)
2. Chipping and scratches using Vallejo 70.862 (Black Grey) + 71.001 and contours using 71.025 + 71.001
3. Washes using oils, Yellow Ocre, Medium Yellow, Raw Umber and White
4. Highlights using oils, Yellow Ocre, Medium Yellow, and White
Now the paint needs to dry completely before I can add final touches with oils and acrylics.

Thanx Spanjaard 🙂
The Sturmgeschütz is done. The last detail I have added was a cover in between the gun mantlet and the casemate to keep it clear from water and dust. Only later versions got this modification out of the factory. Before it is often seen as a field modification.
Finally a crew is added. I used the excellent Dynamo-models Stug crew.
Next will be a small vignette to present the Sturmgeschütz.
