Ebbro Lotus 49C
The body colors used are Number Five Type 49C Red, 1:1 Number Five Gold Leaf and Magnesium Gold for the gold, and Mr Finishing Surfacer White for the white. I was planning to use the gold decals for the front, but i was unable to make them fit properly. The gloss is Number Five 2k clear.
The front interior detail is quite good, but fitting it was tricky.
The front cowling struggled to fit, and since I made it detachable there is a visible gap. In general, I found the design of the top cowling to be quite poor. There are two parts that had to be attached to it to the side and had to be filled as they are not separate pieces on the real car. Another issue was that part of the black air radiator exhaust(?) was moulded as part of this top cowling, instead of the separate part that attached to it. This made painting trickier, and added a visible gap between these parts.
The gearbox is extremely busy on this car, and it was difficult to make everything fit where it was meant to. I had to repair the piece holding up the exhausts as one of the arms broke off.
The metal parts were all repainted with different shades of alclad
The detail on the Cosworth DFV is quite good in this kit, but I only added a bit of piping as I lost motivation to detail it further.
Seatbelts are from Tamiya's Seat Belt Set A
