These photos are from a quick visit I made to the Planes of Fame Museum while on a business trip last year in Chino, California. Many of the collection are maintained in flying condition, including the world's only flying Zero. There are many more aircraft than I am showing here! Recommended the next time you're at Disneyland - Chino is only about a 45 minute drive from Anaheim.

I was shocked when I first saw the He-100, because I thought that the few that were built were sold to Russia and never seen again. Then I looked at the placard in front of the plane and saw that it is a replica, not the real thing. But it still looks pretty cool. I couldn't get a real good picture of it because of the way they have it tucked back into a corner.

In their restoration shop, they were working on returning a Bearcat to flying condition. Almost of of the aluminum skin panels were off, so you could see everything inside. It was amazing work they were doing, but I wasn't allowed to take photos.

Does anyone make a 1:72 kit of the He-100?
@Holger, yes it's a well-made replica. If you look real close, you can tell that there is no detail in the wheel wells, etc. but overall it looks very good. I wonder if any of the He-100s that went to Russia have survived? I also understand that a few were sold to Japan.

2 for Japan and 10 to the soviets! The rest of the 21 ever produced, became "Werkschutzstaffel" ...

Bill, you shalt not ask "does aynone make a kit of..." before consulting Scalemates 😉

I always wanted to visit Chino - but it's too far away - now we got a little tour, many thanks Bill!
@Holger: Werkschutzstaffeln is a very interesting but neglected topic - due to the rare aircraft that were used.

@Burkhard: You are right! Why didn't I think of that? Although I don't see a connection in the timeline, I guess that the Revell kit is a re-box of the MPM kit?

Lets ask Burkhard, i´m sure he can help with this interesting question! Burkhard, please enlight us, if you can!

I think you're right, the Revell kit looks to have raised panels. Also, it looks like a very old kit.
