Album info

This project took longer than anticipated, but I'm very happy with the result. This was my first model to use masks I made in CAD and cut on my Silhouette Portrait 3. The national insignias and VMF-214 logo being the exception. Another first for me was making a replacement canopy using a vacuum-form machine and the canopy from the Hasegawa kit as a mold. It was also the first time I used CAD to make a base, which I traced from a VMA-214 squadron sticker and converted to a 3D solid model file, using Fusion 360. It was printed on my FDM printer. It's not great, but it'll do for now until I get my resin printer up and running. The only parts that were not from the kit were the HVAR rockets (from an Academy P-47 kit) and the 20mm cannons (Quickboost aftermarket). A few scratch-built add-ons like the bomb rack and rocket mounting brackets.
