After years of interrupting the build, I decided to recover this kit I have satrted. Well the masking tape reuined the transparencies and I will have to solve this problem.

I cleaned the best I could to clean the transparency, with polishing compound and stuff, and masked it again.

I have to make a modification, transforming a "T" tail from the H500D in a "V" tail from the H500C. I used styrene sheet and brass tube for that.

After primed and painted white base color, It's time to mask it for the red paint.

As I am going to make a diorama of it carrying an external load, I cut disks from acetate and airbrushed the four blurred blades (original kit was a H500D model with five blades), The technique is to simulate blades rotation

I have cut an EVA base and scratch build a concrete slab, for external load, with popsicle sticks and Depron, covered with AK surface compound.

I have cut a transparent sprue to serve as a support for the helicopter. I painted the concrete slab grey, and the base in brownish tones.

Next step is to scratchbuild the cables, and attach them to the concrete slab and the scratch built cargo hook.

Album info

This was a recovery from a started kit I abandoned years ago. I modified a Hughes 500D to a Hughes 500C model. Main differences are the "V" tail instead of "T" tail, and the four blades, instead of 5 blades main rotor.
