Hello all,
this is my first „rollout" this year, the Airfix Sea King HAS.1 in 1:48 scale.
It's mostly OOB with a little aftermarket help from Eduard and Quinta Studio.
The tip socks on the outer rotor blades are self-made with metal foil of a wine bottle cap,
The reinforcing strips on the bags are made from masking tape. Safety straps on the three inner rotor blades are from chocolate wrapping paper (!) which have a fine "linen structure" on both sides.
Squadron markings are taken from CTA decal sheet "Ark Royal Sixth Commission". Stencils are from the kit's decal sheet.
Deck Tractor and tow bar are from Skunk Models.
Of course, the result is not completely flawless, but I'm pretty happy with the overall result. Hope you like it too.
Next to come is (hopefully) a German Navy Sea King Mk. 41. It all depends on whether I can get the appropriate conversion kit, which is not easy to get at the moment. If it doesn't work out, it will be a Royal Navy HAS.5, maybe with torpedo armament.
