The decals or this kit are so old that they won' come off the backing sheet.. Any tips..?

Is Photocopy the Decal Sheet on hi-grade photographic paper, so you have a copy for replacing them, should anything go wrong whilst trying to overcome their problems. Personally I would try and replace them, I would not use them as I think they sound, by what you say too far gone...
