The second, one seater Yak 38 project has started- as a vertical take off or more conventionel: we will see... 🙂
HB offers the same parts as for the two seater- except the bow section of course. Instead of the kits cockpit parts I have used one made of resin from Aires.
Assembling of the bow section and joining of plastic and resin parts was a bit tricky, but at last I succeeded...
By the way: this one will be shown with folded wings and open canopy.

Thank you guys! Till now I am quite pleased with the quality of HB´s parts and feel curious about how it will look like....
Indeed, Aghis! Even changed plans to attach a pair of floats... 🙂

Some more pictures and some progress on this "Forger". The outer wing halfs have been sewed off -I will show this one with folded wings.
Next I will do a serious amount of filling and sanding...

How ist the fit from the Aires cockpit? I wasn't sure and hesitated to buy it so I've bought a PE set for it.

Thank you! Michel, if you did hesitate because of concerns about the fit: you did the right thing! 🙂 Even after heavy cutting and sanding I needed reasonable force to close the fuselage halves around that too big piece of resin. Next time I would also opt for PE parts...

Filled and sanded, the Forger awaits the preshading... Worst work to do was blending in the resin- intakes. There is still some work to do, but I am confident that the preperations for the paintshop will soon be done.

Everything ready for decals by now... I would like to show you Eduards resin-etched part version of the Forgers "Aphid" missiles- that means, to show you what my clumsy fingers have done to the eleven parts which form one missile....
As an comparison you also see one of the (not too ambitioned build) kit-rockets... (two parts, by the way 🙂

Thank you very much!
Although it may not seem complete, the Yak-38 is not far from being completed. There is still the washing and some -decent- weathering to apply, but after a final spraysession, which will adjust the glossiness the minor parts can be installed.
Till then...

I got finished with this one... Quite a lot of sanding and filling until the very end of this build, but I am glad to have two Versions of Russias sole jump Jet in my collection. Eduards "Aphid" AA proved to be a little bit fiddle to build but, as I think, it improves the Forgers appearance.
Thank you for comments and your interest!

Hallo Roland! Die Form des Single-Seaters ist doch wesentlich ästhetischer als die des Zweisitzers. Beide Modelle sind aber - wie von Dir gewohnt - top gebaut und lackiert. Großartig!

interesting project well executed, I like it 🙂
All you need now is a little section of a Russian aircraft carrier for them to sit on

Hi mate, it's been a while since I built this kit.... but I remember that it looks like this out of the box - so no etched parts or anything like that.
