Thanks Steve. I have a friend who says that Corvettes should always be red, but I like the white with red interior, too. I miss the chrome bumpers and rocker molding in today's Corvettes that this model features. While the Chevy short-block with boost may turn the quarter-mile faster, I admire what the old big block engines could do. To me this certainly is a "Classic" Corvette.

Black's great too Curtis, but not just any old black...
I watch " Counting Cars ", Danny has a favourite black, a special one and from what I can tell from only ever seeing it on TV, it's perfect for this beauty. Black and Red are natural together as well...
You tell your friend, RED only looks good on a FERRARI, something a Vette ain't🤔😢👍

Yes! I love the Count, too! He can restore any car for me anytime. Danny's group has skills that Richard Rawlings only wishes he had.

Steve, I wonder if this is the difference between plain black and chromatic black. Bob Ross' black has a lot of blue in it. Jerry Yarnell uses a mixture of dark colors rather than straight black. Getting a good color of black just might be the ticket! Ya got me thinkin'!

Chromatic black is a mixed paint color that looks black but doesn't contain any black pigment in it. None of the pigments in a chromatic black mix have a PBk (Pigment Black) Color Index. Instead, a chromatic black is created by mixing dark versions of other colors, typically a red and green or blue and red.
Why would you bother mixing up a substitute for black? It's partly the fault of the Impressionists (such as Renoir and Monet) and statements they made about shadows not being black and how it should never be used (although most of them did at some stage or other). It's also partly because black can be a very flat and dull color. And it's partly because a chromatic black is a more complex, interesting color, with a subtlety that straight black lacks. The more common way of creating a chromatic black is by mixing ultramarine blue with an earth color.

Hopefull that is a good place Steve. If you check the paint list on Scalemates they have the Winsor & Newton paints. I bought a couple of tubes to use for highlights.

Hi Curtis... I use Winsor & Newtons as well...
Oil paints, especially the ones in tubes are my favourite, as you say for high lighting, they dry brush beautifully!!!

One thing I've always said about building models... If you can convince someone elses eye, that something is, when it isn't, then you're doing something right at least!!!
Fooling the observers eye is a percentage of the fun. 😄
