Thanks for the comments! Today most of the canopies are cut up, ground thinner and applied to the fuselages. I'm left with the Hellcat open canopies, these just don't look the part and I will probably have to remove part of the tail to fit these.

I found a hack for making the perfect 1/350 Hellcat open canopy. Use 1/700 two-bar railing cut to four stanchions and bend this over the middle. By now I have placed all clearparts on the airwing. I now started t add the number decals on the Helldivers. You shouldn't follow the Pontos Hancock tailfin indications, these appear wrong as the number is always below the omega sign.

Continuing the interior with the seats. Also the fenders are completed, it's very important to align the bent beams that sometimes are replaced woth Voyager assemblies. It's preferable to use that, the replacements are sturdier than the originals.

The cabin exterior is done using some original kit PE and clearparts, but both have problems. The clearparts are not calibrated and have distortion because of this. I will be replacing the large parts with plexiglass. The kit PE is wobbly because it's not thick enough., I even had to hammer it quite a while. Then I found out Voyager does replace half of the protection kit, but not the large parts behind the doors. At least half of the creases are removed then. But Voyager messed up at the hood closing strip, providing two identical parts in stead of mirrored ones. This could be remedied with some re-riveting.

Thanks, SM! The ruins are now painted using Vallejo primers and colors. I use vivid colors and then tone down to get depth. The earth colors will be "grassed".

Thanks, guys. Today you get the Maestro airbrakes. Nice detail, but there is no space for the mechanical parts that make them work. I might cut into the interior parts to add those. I also scratched a part for the jet exhaust that's not in the kit but should have been in the PE set in my opinion, as it is clearly visible from outside. And then I had an idea for the missing rivets that should be on the wings and the canards. Why not add these with the Mastertools Rivet Punch? That was lingering in my toolbox for a year, now it's very useful.

The airbrake locks are now perforated. The tail fin is regraved and the undercarriage is completed as a dry-fit. I saw one camera-glass is partly detached but I can't get into the nose cone without drilling now to push it back.
