Hey Rob, how did you start it in 2116 and finish it in 2015 when it's a Ford and not a De Lorean?
Or is the "Striped Tomato" keeping a secret

I can't remember where I heard it called the "Striped Tomato". Might have been something to do with the Scalextric release of the Starsky and Hutch set.

Robert,
Believe it or not I used to watch back in the days. Seems pretty hokey now, lol
I see you also built one,,,, did you have trouble with the wheels?? Not my favorite car, but the engine in the kit is quite nice.

Album info

I really just wanted to try putting a clear coat just on the colored plastic. I knew this one was molded in red so figured it would be a good test subject. There are lots of kits molded in pretty good colors, so why paint them ?? just polishing the plastic just didn't give it enough shine & depth.
This was a pretty decent kit really. It has a SWEET 351 Cleveland engine. Not so special tires & wheels (I never cared for slotted aluminum mags). The decals went on and lined up pretty easy.
The problem I had was putting the wheels on. It has those little metal pins and for the life of me I just couldn't get them on right, they're all wobbly !! I couldn't figure out what I did wrong, I've done those kind before and didn't have trouble. ??????
Anyway, other than the wheels it turned out good, but not one that I really care for. when it comes to space this will be one of the first to go, but I'll rob the 351 and display it. I've already let my grandson play with it, and I don't let him "play" with the models.
