Anyway,,, looks like a pretty nice kit. Very reasonable shipping from UK. No broken parts!
Mk.IIa had 8 × .303 Browning machine guns,,, OUCH!!
I read they all say the ailerons are incorrect. and a few other "details" etc, etc,,, whatever,,,Do I really care???? NO! It will still look good to me! How it builds will be the test!
So, now I guess I need a Seafire ! lol And,,, we'll see when the new Mk.IXC comes out !!

The Mk IX is just a Mk V with a different engine. I believe that you already have a Mk V?

Yes, Hmmm, and it probably wont have the engine that you can show! We'll see.
See, I'm glad somebody out there knows more about Spits than I do!

Could that one be done w/the shortened wings?

I've only seen a Mk V with clipped wings but with a bit of research, who knows

Yea, that's it, there's SO much info out there, it's a job just to sort it all out !
I picked this from some website "Some Spitfires starting with Mk.V had wingtips removed to improve low-altitude performance."
I take all these little snippets from different sites as I go along and past them into notebook & save them for reference later, sometimes they get pretty lengthy & confusing. I try NOT to spend TOO much time researching. lol I'd rather be building.
I'll have to dig out the HB Vb kit and look at those wings! It shows full wings on the boxart.

A few more snippets I came across.
"The A-type was the original wing design, with eight .303 calibre Browning machine guns, with 300 rounds per gun."
"Towards the end of 1940, the fabric covered ailerons were replaced by ones covered in light alloy." "The A-type wing was only compatible with the 8 × .303 Browning machine gun armament suite."
So,,, those ailerons may not be incorrect after all !!
