German halftrack track links are insanely complicated! I will probably never build another one without Magic Tracks.

If you get them cheap try Friul Tracks made of metal...much easier!!

I saw a video of another guy recommending the use of the needle glue (Revell, Faller, etc.) for putting the top piece on which connects the track links. I've used Tamiya extra thin for this build, which was probably not the easiest route for control of the glue. I feel that if I find the right method and practice, it might not be so difficult. Maybe I am too optimistic.

More or less finished the kit by now, according to my current skill level. I've recorded much of the build process, so in time, I will put up a build video on my YouTube-channel (Spur1Denmark). There's a picture of the spare parts for those interested in this. Number of track links used for each side: 39.

I have to say it was an utter pleasure to build this Dragon kit from 1998, because almost no sanding was required, and at the same time the high part count really makes it feel like an achievement once it's done. A huge amount of fun, and I've bought lots more because of this very good experience.

Happy building everyone!

Album info

Building my first Dragon kit, and having lots of fun, even if the tracks are fiddly! This will be a learning project, and I probably have already broken just too many track pieces trying to make them flex for it to be movable afterwards. In any case: lots of enjoyment 🙂
