So I think I got a pretty decent price on this one. $39 shipped, not bad! It's all there, everything in nice shape, nothing broken, even the decals look good.
Funny thing,,, I was looking at one from the same guy a week earlier $39 starting bid, Free shipping w/BIN $79? $,,, from a retired Navy guy,,, it ended the day before I got paid, so I asked if I could pay the next day, and how much shipping if it sold for $39?. His reply was "good luck getting it that cheap". It actually went for $41, and I would have gone more!
So the next week he had this one, and it actually looked nicer than the previous one, same starting bid $39. So I waited, and no one else bid on it! That's payback for being a SmartAss!
Anyway, If anybody else out there is looking for one of these, it has been released several times since the 60s, the latest being in 2012. As it happens there's a site called USS Midway Museum: jetshop.midway.org/a..t-carrier-model.html
where you can but the newer release for $29.99 + $9.52 Standard/$13.90 Express Shipping. A GOOD DEAL
I see the same kit selling for $70 +s/h on ebay!

I won an Airfix Mosquito with just the starting bid on the weekend. No one else bid and the last one of the same kit I bid on had four people bidding on it. I was so sure I wouldn't win I hadn't even bothered to look in on the end of the auction and when I received a notification on my phone I was surprised when it said item won instead of you've been outbid

Funny I just bought the new (well 2008 ) tool Revell 1/48 Mosquito. I already have the Tamiya, but "they" say this one is so much nicer!! There I go again,,, impulsive!!

I really want the 1/32 Tamiya Mosquito. It's very expensive, so much so the Airfix 1/24 Mosquito I purchased not that long ago was cheaper.
Now I only have one reboxing of the Airfix 1/72 Mosquito to get and I have all the ones with R.A.A.F decals
