L-29 Delfin

Very, very nice David 👍 One of my all time favorite planes! Super clean and classy build. How did it go together? I have this kit in 1:72, and hope to get to it soon.
When I saw that AMK did this in 1:48 I just had to build it. You probably remember the old 1/72 kit from KP. So this brought some memories back 🙂 As far as the kit goes, the fit and engineering is on par to Tamiya, IMO. The panel lines are a little heavier than I would like. I did not have to fight the kit, it went together very smoothly 👍
I kept the weathering to a minimum, because my reference pictures are showing very clean and well maintained aircraft. And, it just feels wrong to me to portray L-29 covered in dirt and grime 🙂
Oh, I remember the old KP L-29 😄 It's not one of the KP's best effort, but it was their first, if I recall correctly. I think I have Pavla resin cockpit for it somewhere. The Bilek effort has lots of problems as well. Looks like AMK got it right.
Again, turned our really nice 👍 👍 Your detailing is excellent, I love all the opened hatches and drooping control surfaces. Funny reading about your "blues" 🙂
Thanks Sebastian, Nikolaos, Christian and Alec.
Is it just me or are the photos a bit darker?
Nice build David, and I think you are right, the pics are a bit to dark.
I checked my camera and I had EV -1.0 from a previous shooting on. So that explains that. I will fix the photos and re-upload: who wants to look at dark photos, right? 🙂

The kit was really nice: good fit, no flash, went together nicely. I think the panel lines are a little bit too heavy. Decals went on with no problems, microsol and microset worked great. The PE sets from Eduard improved the kit a lot (I got advanced modeler syndrome, but do not worry I am cured and back to OOBs).
Paint: The gray is a my own mix: 180 white : 1 blue : 2 black. A lot of pictures I found online had the gray just too dark (the match for the color recommended by the instructions comes out as Tamiya XF-20 and I think that could be the problem). When I sprayed my concoction, it looked too blue. I did not like it. I was going to look at the model under different light for 2 days and it was still too blue. Well, the reference picture shows that the paint had some blue for sure - it shows the plane towards its end of the life. The color does not look that blue on the photos though. After about a week and putting the decals on, the "too blue" feeling went away...
The picture shows quite clean airplan
