There is alot of PE in this BigEd kit for the Dauntless. Flaps and dive breaks and almost the whole cockpit is replaced in the kit. I'm only half way through the PE as of yet. 🙂

Thanks Stephan! 🙂
Did a little more PE bending. Now all the major parts are done. Next step is to paint the cockpit.

So I did some more work on the Dauntless this weekend. Cockpit is painted and assembled and also the flaps and dive breaks. Next is assembling the fuselage and seal the cockpit so I can start painting.

Amazing job on the cockpit Bjorn! Really nice work mate. Will be another eye catcher I guess!

Thank you Stephan! 🙂
Riveting done, and canopy masked. Only a bit of cleanup left before first layer of paint.

I've been busy 🙂. Finished basic paint and assembled and painted most of the small parts.
Next will be a clear coat, before decals.

Still not there yet... Decaling and most of the weathering is done, but still alot of work left with the small parts and the flaps/dive breaks. I have to assemble all the little levers for them first.

Final stretch! I've started assembling the flaps/dive breaks. Only some light weathering left after I've finished this. 🙂

Like it a lot Björn! Especially your effort about the Flaps and Airbrakes looks amazing so far 👍

Thank you Daniel! 🙂
I'm taking my time with it. The Flaps/Dive breaks are really worth the extra money/time spent on this kit.

Thank you Spanjaard! 🙂
I'm surprised I haven't dropped any of the small parts on the floor yet. I guess I will have to say a prayer to the PE gods when this is over😉.

Yes you are right! And I don't even have a carpet. The monster must be a shape shifter😉

So the Dauntless is finished. 🙂
I really liked building this kit from Hasegawa. No real problems at all. The Eduard BigEd kit did its job for the detailing as usual, although, the cockpit detail in the kit was nice as it was, but the flaps/dive breaks added alot to the finished build in my opinion.
Time to start another one...😉

Thank you Mike! 🙂
I'm also kind of a jet guy after growing up in Linköping and watching all of the SAAB planes (Tunnan/Lansen/Draken/Viggen/Gripen) at air shows several times. They are all on my list for future builds.

I looked at more of your pictures … stunning cockpit. I assumed it was 1/32 scale. Then I saw it was 1/48. Amazing. Congratulations.

Björn, fantastic job of a nice plane. It looks really like a real Dauntless which was in service for some time.
