Star Trek Enterprise NCC-1701 TOS
Primer with rattle can.
I'd never thought I'd do lighting, but it was tempting and I gave it a try.
I glued in a fishing weight (sawed in half) to give the right balance.
More wires ...
First time I used Humbrol Maskol (liquid masking) ; see the purplish on the top of the saucer and window sections. Worked out very nice.
For the lighting of the front of te nacelles (orange bulbs) I used LEDs from an old garden solar set.
I prefer Mr Surfacer (1000 and 500) rather than Revell Plasto.
Could have probably less wiring, but I'm a novice at this.
Test mounted on the stand.
I tried a gloss coat with Johnson Pledge but had a crackled effect like human skin. Sprayed too thick ? Too many layers ? Not waited long enough between layers ?
Always excited when starting with the decals.
Found a wooden box to hide the LED module and battery pack.

looks quite nice! i have never done a Start Trek model, but this one would be a good candidate 🙂
somebody had the same problem with Future with a submarine a few days ago... but i can not find the album anymore....

The kit itself is pretty straightforward, the wiring was harder 🙂 I have a WIP of the Revell "Into Darkness" and hoping of finishing that within a couple of days or weeks. I saw that Polar Lights (Round2corp) has nice models, but the shipping cost from US is too expensive for me.
