Thanks, I added some new photos to the progress. I actually used Vallejo's chipping medium to create the whitewash. For additional snow effects used basic pastels (white). The mud is a combination of brown,black,grey pastels, along with Vallejo European mud effects. Wanted to really overdo it this time to try these techniques. I want to try the AK chipping so It would be cool if you did Panzer III. My next one is Dragons Panzer 3 (6387) want to do Leningrad. Kharkov sounds really good tho that should be great love to see it. Happy Modeling.

I think mud and snow effects should be applied at the end. I would first apply washes, streaking and chipping.

in my opinion there should be a transition between the mud and the cleaner paint. and as you say snow effects are overdone.

watch you tube tutorials and google reference photos and keep practicing. I'm doing it too because I'm not totally happy with my results yet.
