Nice work Todd, I've got this kit currently on the bench as well and am intending to do the same scheme. 👍
I've only just got the airframe and nose together, and am presently working on filling the joins.
Did you have to trim the VF-1 decals on the bottom fins to fit?

Yes there were a few joints to fill for sure! i did trim the decals on the ventral fins, if i did it again i would trim it a little further, basically so the red outline of the main red section was not there anymore
