It's very interesting that no one has commented on this stunning project yet ? I love that yellowish tone of the hull. Any plans for etched or resin people in this project?

Etched flat dude's are no go for me, but luckily I still have quite a bunch of North Star 3D printed ones, so YES there'll be some on the deck and some in the dock as well 😉

Nice work . Not sure people realise how difficult these 1/700 ships are especially the smaller vessels such as destroyers - I tried the Tenryu with full PE and had to dump the PE in the end and finish it without - its at the back of the display shelf. Will not attempt another 1/700 unless its battleship of aircraft carrier.

I'm not sure if that makes any difference whether it's a destroyer or battleship. PE is PE. OK battleship will have more of it, but that won't mean the stuff will be any bigger 🙂 To be honest I have enough, this is my last 1/700 for a good while.

I just realized what you used to hold it in the first pics!
Either you have huge bottles or this ship is tiny 🙂
Amazong work!

... the sacrifices I ( my liver to be specific ) have to make, to provide adequate number of those holders, are unbelivable 😉

Excellent work. I have not seen too many dioramas of modern warships in drydock; it is usually sailing vessels. Very cool.

If the scale wouldn´t be figured out on could believe it´s 1/350 or even 1/200.

Nice work! The angle of Chou-10-sannchi Koukaku-Hou (3.9"/65 DP) is good!

I hope it's not over 😉
What paints and techniques do you use for the weathering effects? I imagine oils, but I am not sure. May you have mentioned it in one of your WIPs!? But anyhow, a tutorial would be fine 😄

There' everything there 😉 Fouling on underwater part is mostly done with hairspray ( 3 colours applied and chipped one after another ) then it's finished off with some enamels and oils. While above waterline it's oils, including wash. I use Talens's Van Gogh series. There's nothing sophisticated about the tools. For chipping I use an old toothbrush and for everything else fine paintbrush and sometimes sponge.

Thank you Mick 👍 So no new magic products, just the good old hairspray method, oil paints, brushes and sponge.

Dudes, scaffold and welder are in position, all that's left is rigging. I hope that It'll be finished by next weekend....

Wow, what a great build.
I have the kit startet in a box 🙁 .
Did you also had fit problems. My hull is sligthly to short. I'm not sure how it will turn out in the end

Christian I had to build up the hull from underneath the bow and had to shorten stern PE deck to fit the hull, but it's all quite simple stuff and visible straight away when you dry fit them. In general it's a very good kit.

Thanks Mick, yes the kit looks great. And now I know I am not the only one with the fit problems.
I hope I will finish before the next Operation Ten-Go anniversary.
