This will probably be model building again instead of gluing the kit together 😉

Taking a seat;) I simply adore watching, how you create your masterpieces bughunter.

I was waiting for the first pictures since you created the project, some weeks ago...
There's a seat with my name on, it I think...

To work with wood is always relaxing for me, so I tried to made an airscrew. Only some small steps ...

The airscrew looks fantastic - that's one of my (many...) weak points, when it comes to painting them. And I am shy to carve the veeners...

Ha!

Exactly Bernhard! Not the first time, as on my Nieuport 17 FLYBOYS Nieuport Ni-17 | Project by bughunter (1:48) and the recent Quadruplane Wight Quadruplane | Project by bughunter (1:48)
Thick wall alu tube would also possible, but harder to chuck in the lathe and I had nothing in my stash. But a piece of 24mm alu 😉
Laser welding would be nice, but that is beyond my reach.

Super work on the cowling. If it's too big, just make a new one (I know, but best to just get it over with). Another option would be to thin the inside of the plastic cowling with rotary tool drum sander, or make a threaded screw holder and do it on the lathe.

Just wondering, what kind of lathe machine do you use, and do you recommend it? Seems like the only sane option is some mini-lathe, not the typical industrial lathe machine.

Slavo, I put this project on hold a while ago and started a new one and finished it last week:
Kondor D.2 | Project by bughunter (1:48)
Treehugger, it is a Paulimot. In principle it is a Chinese one, with a new drive and electronic control. It was the smallest one (need only 220V), in comparison with a Proxxon for the same price it has more options. I bought it some years ago and it is still available, only the price is higher now:
paulimot.de/drehbank..nd-frequenzumrichter
The company is also located in Bavaria so I was able to drive there with my car and pick it up (package is 82kg!).
Is is not only the lathe, you need also some tools around it.
At that time I build RC models, so I opted for a bigger machine. May be I would go now with a watchmaker lathe, but on the other hand a bigger machine is helpful for things like the cowlings. The problem is with smaller ones that you can't use bigger drills for example (length is to short to hold the drill). A lathe is not a toy and a powerful and dangerous tool, that must be clear. And I never had a education about it, so it need a while to learn and I'm still learning with every produced bit.
