Late Production Panzer IV Ausf. H Summer, 1944
Backdating the Ausf. J Zimmerit to that of the Ausf. H.
Backdating parts from my Dragon Spare Parts Hoard.
The middle style of muzzle brake for the KwK 40.
This photo really shows how much I missed around the gunner's vision port. The joys of macro photography....
You get both in the kit, use Part 40 for the Ausf. H.
My guess is 104 links for the right side.
A little loose with 101 links.
Dragon side skirts on a Tamiya hull. Compliments of my Dragon Spare Parts Hoard.
Almost a drop fit. I had to sand down the fender standoffs to fit into the lower brackets but everything else fit nice enough. (Popped two plastic brackets off though.)
As an experiment, I tried fitting the side skirts from Tamiya's new tool Brummbar (35353). If one was to adjust the positions of the bottom brackets, I believe they would work well. I wish Tamiya would release Sprue "D" as a Detail-Up option.
Still popped a couple of the top brackets off during fitting. I may leave the missing plates off but I want to try sanding down the mounting rails.
Details, details, details.....
The Dragon muffler was already built by the unknown modeller that I acquired my Dragon spare parts hoard from. Slide moulded and a drop fit. The brass rod antenna came out of the same box and I don't know who the manufacturer is.
My crazy glue has not been up to the task I'm afraid. Too old I suspect. I may have to get a new tube and redo all the top brackets on the side skirts.
