Fw 190F-8 progress
![Album image #1 Album image #1](/albums/img/8/5/5/1054855-34174-88-720.jpg)
The Cockpit is finished with PE from Eduard. I chose to paint the instrument panel rather than to use the PE as I thought the detail was so nice. In hind sight I should have painted the side panels also as I'm a bit disappointed by the detail in the Eduard PE.

![Album image #3 Album image #3](/albums/img/8/5/6/1054856-34174-86-720.jpg)
Allt he small parts are assembled painted and weathered. THe only modifications made was to be able to change out the load out of the armament.
![Album image #4 Album image #4](/albums/img/1/1/9/1068119-34174-31-720.jpg)
Fuselage halves, cockpit and wings fused together and the wind screen.
![Album image #5 Album image #5](/albums/img/1/2/0/1068120-34174-69-720.jpg)
The canopy is glued with PVA-glue.
![Album image #6 Album image #6](/albums/img/1/2/1/1068121-34174-76-720.jpg)
Also here I have used Montex-masks.
![Album image #7 Album image #7](/albums/img/1/2/2/1068122-34174-21-720.jpg)
Here you can see the Montex mask lifting after spraying the first layer of color for the inside of the cockpit.
![Album image #8 Album image #8](/albums/img/1/2/3/1068123-34174-65-720.jpg)
After a black base and marbling. I used Tamiya XF-1 and XF-2 for this.
![Album image #9 Album image #9](/albums/img/5/8/1/1074581-34174-21-720.jpg)
Top and bottom color applied.
![Album image #10 Album image #10](/albums/img/5/8/2/1074582-34174-62-720.jpg)
It is very uniform in it's color on this picture, but that is because of the limited dynamic range of the camera and the sharp lights.
![Album image #11 Album image #11](/albums/img/5/8/0/1074580-34174-63-720.jpg)
Some more masking and painting to be done.
![Album image #12 Album image #12](/albums/img/5/8/3/1074583-34174-55-720.jpg)
![Album image #13 Album image #13](/albums/img/5/8/4/1074584-34174-70-720.jpg)
Result after the green camoflage paint is applied. I chose to go for Tamiya's XF-58 for this, instead of using the Hataka paints, as I feel I have more control of the airbrush flow with the trusty old Tamiya paint.
![Album image #14 Album image #14](/albums/img/6/2/4/1075624-34174-50-720.jpg)
Decals and a protective gloss layer have been applied. Next is weathering 🙂.
![Album image #15 Album image #15](/albums/img/1/4/4/1077144-34174-13-720.jpg)
According to the build description the crosses are supposed to be partially painted over by the camoflage, so I masked them off and added some paint streaks over them.
![Album image #16 Album image #16](/albums/img/1/4/5/1077145-34174-16-720.jpg)
I'm pretty happy with the result. It will look better with a matt coat over it.
![Album image #17 Album image #17](/albums/img/1/4/6/1077146-34174-86-720.jpg)
I did the same with the crosses on the fuselage, but only feathering this time.
![Album image #18 Album image #18](/albums/img/1/4/7/1077147-34174-52-720.jpg)
It is finished! 🙂

I did some adjustments to the bombs and the extra tank, so I can change them out on the plane.

Compared to the Eduard Fw 190A-5 that I built a few years ago.

I have also worked on the F8 this week. Assembly of fuselage/wings and pre-shading in the form of black base and marbling.

Another update for the F8. I've completed the base camoflage, so next step is to apply a gloss coat and decals.

Thank you Spanjaard! I really like these mediterranian and north african paint schemes. 🙂

Thanks Daniel!
Another update. The decals are on and a protective clear layer before the weathering begins.

The Fw 190F-8 is finished!
But the project is only at its beginning. Next is the bomb loading crew. 🙂

Thank you mates! 🙂
I was surprised how well the camoflage pattern turned out! Now I'm thinking of building a Stuka in the same camoflage. I still haven't built a G variant, so I wonder if they used them in northern Italy?..
