Finally it was time for metal!!  

I use Mr surfacer 1500 in rattle can as primer, and I carefully sand it with 5000 paper and water.  

 

 

I painted the ldg bays and flaps area in blue to replicate oatake primer. It is also a way to make the model less boring.  

 

And then I did my first attempt to recreate chipping....  

 

 

 

 

 

 

So I give a chance on the second one. A mess of masking because I don't have the decals for this version!  

Honestly? I like it!  

 

 

Ki-44 red 35 is completed!  

 

 

 

 

 

 

And what happened to the second Shoki? I failed to do the chipping. So I try to clean it the best I can. 

After a one year seasoning in its box. I decided it was time to finish it. In the meantime I studied the first one, red 35, and noticed several mistakes. I try to do better with this one.  

So primer again!
