As usual I have forgotten to take pictures so far on this one but it is starting to resemble what it should. Belts and wires attached as well as mating the cockpit and engine to the chassis. Sort of a fiddly kit but looking ok.

Looks much better than just ok to me. can't believe what a primitive-looking chassis design this car had back then.

Thank you! And I know! I started looking up reference pictures and it's crazy. There's nothing to them. Fortunately there's a ton of pictures of the 126s

This one is across the finish line but perhaps not in 1st place. Gilles Villeneuve is one of those drivers I would have loved to have seen drive. Had to build this as the 27.
This Fujimi kit has not been my favorite. Worked through some issues, plagued by brittle plastic (or maybe I just don't know my own strength), and I would argue over-engineering on this kit. Fit is fiddly but if you're careful it isn't awful. It does end up building into a nice looking piece but it's quite a journey to get there, at least it was for me.

Following.. I've this in the to-do pile along with a pair of 126C2s. Looks great.

Thank you Roy! Treat all thin plastic pieces with kid gloves as they do not bend, they just break. Even the top of the rear cowling behind the cockpit broke on me as I was putting the engine cover over the chassis. Lol. That was a first.
Ben, many thanks! And that's awesome!! Every clip or photo I ever see of Gilles it looks like he was just wringing the things neck, squeezing out every last drop!

It's hard to find a photo of Gilles cornering, giving it 100% NOT going sideways...

OOB build, maybe with some ignition wiring and seatbelts.
