Nifty 50 Sea Fury

Our local model club topic for this April through June is Nifty 50's and my selection is this Korean War Hawker Sea Fury. Office is complete. Making good progress. This is my first non-WWII subject in quite a while.

Well, the Sea Fury is now complete. A heavy travel schedule over the last few weeks limited my bench time and WIP photos. I'm happy overall with how this one turned out, but the project was more work than expected. Having opted for the "wings extended" pose, quite a bit of sanding, filling and scribing was required to create acceptable wing joints at the folding interface. I also decided to use the Barracuda spinner, engine, front cowling and main engine cowling upgrades, which of course added some extra steps.

Thats awesome Jim! I got the chance to walk around one of these up close and personal as well as see it's aerial display at the Auckland international airshow back in 1992. A fantastic aircraft that I knew very little about at the time. This one brings back fond memories. 👍
