Hobby Boss MV-22B Osprey

Hobby Boss MV-22 Build. I am a part of the Osprey community so I felt obligated to give this one my all. 215 Hours of work. A lot of learning figuring out the lights and electronics to get them all stuffed inside this thing. The props were especially complicated, but the kit is designed in a way that actually makes the tip lights doable. Overall fantastic kit. The fit on all the parts is wonderful. The design, shape and detailing(Raised and sunken panels/rivets etc..) are all spot on. Overall very impressed with this kit with little bad to say about it. For the most part, it did exactly what i wanted it to. If the details or configuration weren't what I wanted, I was able to modify it with a little patience. The Black Dog resin engine fits very nicely in this kit despite being made for the Italeri Osprey. The wing aft coves fit okay too. the geometry matches except for the outer most edges but it was still pretty passable. You have to modify quite a bit though where the flaperons actually slot in. Lot of filing and test fitting, and then filing again but its doable and ended up pretty sturdy despite all the structure I had to cut out. The VMM163 decals turned out stunning. Be aware though they are super thin so they require a ton of patience getting them set. Worth the result though. See reference photos for some of the weathering details. No shortage of dirty and mismatch MVs on the internet though. The nonskid texture came out amazing. It took 7.5 hours to mask. Even with the cutting board. About 360 strips wide for spacing, then pulled every other leaving about 180 strips from wing fence to wing fence. Now if only Hobby Boss would release the CMV-22B variant. Forgot the Red APU exhaust cover so I built one up quick and added it.
