Harrier 809 is aviation historian, Roland White's, fascinating and previously untold story about the formation of a new Sea Harrier squadron, 809 NAS, in the opening weeks of the Falklands War.

Rapidly formed to backfill pilots and aircraft expected to be lost in combat, 809’s Sea Harriers were painted in a unique ‘Barley Grey’ camouflage, tested on 1:24 scale Airfix models by experts at RAE Farnborough.

They arrived in the Falklands aboard the fated Atlantic Conveyor. They just managed to offload to HMS Hermes & Invincible before Atlantic Conveyor was sunk by an Argentine Exocet missile!
