BMW i8
Starting with the engine.
Engine glued to the chassis.
Dry-fitting the body over the chassis/engine combination.
Seems to fit well.

Normally I would strip the chrome from the wheels and paint the seperately.
But this time decided to keep it and paint the black using black permanent marker pen.
Not perfect, but good enough

Front motor and other components glued in place.
Chassis completed. There's a lot of parts to be painted and glued. Tolerances are sometimes a bit vague and a lot of careful parts cleaning is needed. But it all fits well when done properly (don't rush things)! 🙂
View of the lightly weathered chassis.
All body parts prepped for a first layer of primer.
All body parts are painted and ready:
- primed with Tamiya white primer (decanted from the rattle can)
- colour is Mephisto Grey from Zero Paints
- gloss coat is 2k Diamond Finish from Zero Paints.

If I didn't know it was a model... I would think it's a photo of a real car.
Amazing!
