Last finished build of the year: Amusing Hobby´s fabulous Me 262 HG. A really nice kit, with great fit and surface details. I finished this on in about 2 1/2 weeks (unheard of in my case). My only gripe with the kit is the main gear. The gear legs are distinctively slanted backwards, which would make the original structurally unstable (sorry, but yes Ím serious about that 😉 ) Secondly, the main wheels are comically over sized and don't resemble the typical Me 262 tyres…. Which is strange since Amusing Hobby provides a complete and very nice rendition of a standard Me 262 nose wheel assembly. Both issues are relatively simple to fix. First the gear legs did „ swapped sides, which created a much more realistic forward slant. Secondly the mainwheels were replaces with some Aires resin parts.
The paint job was done with my trusty Harder and Steenbeck Infinity CR+ 0,15mm and Mr. Colour paints.
I hope you like the result 🙂

Looks amazing! Fantastic work, Sebastian! I am more and more tempted to assemble this kit as well 😉

Fantastic painting. Looks great. I own this kit myself - I would have to try to build it sometime. 👍👍👍👍

Thank you Shar Dipree! 🙂 You should definitely build it! The kit has actually a distinctive "Tamiya feel" to it... great fit, simple to build and the surface details are even a little bit better than current Tamiya kits (in my humble opinion at least...)

Thank you James, much appreciated 🙂 The very good quality of the kit "helped" a lot to fully concentrate on the paint job. It might still not be perfect, but I'm definitely very happy with the result. (trying to steadily improve my airbrushing technique)

Really like this one! I have many Luft '46 books and your model really nails the looks of this particular bird!

Thank you very much guys for the kind words 🙂
@Djordje, very happy about your comment in particular mate, since I'm a hog for "what if stuff" and I'm always trying to make these builds "believable" by sticking to real life paint schemes, not over doing it with the markings and so on.
@Jennifer: two and a half weeks was a record for me indeed, since I'm normally an abysmally slow builder 😉 But what really help it, was that the kit itself is nicely detailed without over doing it or having too many parts, generally fits very well and filling was (almost) not necessary ....and where it was, I managed to mess it up (....air intakes). A big timer saver was also the fact that I spray painted all markings. Since the markings are actually part of the paint job, they don't need any special treatment like decals would (varnish, decals solutions, varnish again, sanding back, weathering etc.)

fantastic job Sebastian. beautiful paint job. i wish i could finish any model in a couple of weeks. I think I was able to do that a few decades ago, but certainly not at a fraction of the level you achieved on this one 😄 😄

@NLAW: ....it makes your brain hurt?! Ok, that's new. My models never had that effect on anyone before 😄
